Designer Anine Bing’s innate sense of style and layered background in fashion (she’s a former model and successful blogger) are apparent in her West Village boutique; Bing’s designs are effortlessly cool, but polished - elevated “model off duty” - and the vibe in her Bleecker Street store is likewise a mix of downtown edge and uptown luster.
Bing’s eponymous label claims “Scandinavian heritage and American spirit,” which is pretty spot-on. Her pieces are streamlined, modern, and beautifully made, with nods to stateside sportswear and comfort. On the casual side, luxurious cashmere pullover sweaters with a relaxed fit are cut perfectly for wearing either loose and slouchy or tucked into high-waisted jeans for a more editorial look; cozy sweatshirts feel special with unique necklines, embroidered logos, or vintage-inspired graphics.

Bing’s classic outerwear pieces with gorgeous details are sure to become lasting wardrobe staples: leather biker jackets in distinctive hues like mint and maroon are stand-outs, while the belted wool Luna jacket in heather gray is timeless and effortless - no buttons, no zippers, no problem! While there’s plenty of lightly distressed denim in stock, we were instead drawn to a super-luxe pair of bottoms: the Inez leather trousers with a tapered leg and on-trend paper-bag waist aren’t easy on the wallet ($999), but promise to garner compliments and street-style cred. For after hours, slinky midi and maxi skirts come in black and subtle prints, and classic, impeccably cut slip dresses round out the selection.
Bing’s Village shop is brimming with modern designs in a relaxed setting - a perfect blend of haute and hygge.
