To put it simply, if we could switch closets with anyone in the world, it would be Chelsea Karol, the blonde boss-babe and founder of Beckett Boutique. It’s no easy feat to keep up a thriving womenswear shop, especially on King street - where boutiques are a dime a dozen. However, Beckett Boutique has been doing it with ease since 2015.

It’s no secret that Charleston women have great taste. It’s hard not to when stores like Beckett Boutique stock more Elizabeth and James, Rebecca Minkoff, and 3x1 than even Bloomingdales. You’ll find style-enthused college students, polished professionals, and working moms alike clawing through the racks of ombre halter maxi-dresses, rainbow beaded hoops, and pleated plaid trousers. If you need us, we’ll be knee-deep in the cartoon-print cashmere sweaters.

           

The store itself is eclectically-polished with cerulean-blue leather armchairs, modern art dotting the walls, and rolling ladders that look straight from the Library of Congress (yes, sounds odd but somehow they just make it look so. darn. chic.). While the prices are high, they aren’t offensive. Need a midweek pick me up? A pair of dream catcher hoop earrings for $35 will do just the trick. More of a #treatyoself moment? That pink pom-pom tweed flap bag can be all yours for $575.

It's true, sometimes southern boutiques can just be a little overwhelmingly...well, southern. Which is why Beckett Boutique is like a breath of fresh air. Providing a funky take on the classic Charleston charm aesthetic, you’ll even want to buy the art off the walls.
