With offshoots now in New York City, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing, and Los Angeles, Dover Street Market has become a global household name. Founded in London in 2004 by legendary designer Rei Kawakubo and her husband, Comme des Garcons president Adrian Joffe, the space is known as much for its selection of emerging and high-brow fashion brands as it is for its art installation-like interiors. Imagine a decadent shopping haunt mixed with an Insta-bait art fair, and that will give you an idea of what the store’s interiors are like.

Spanning five floors, Dover Street Market boasts a truly robust selection of brands, which includes (but isn’t limited to) Comme des Garcons, Celine, Loewe, Maison Margiela, Valentino, and also stocks more utilitarian (and affordable!) streetwear-inspired labels like Vans, Supreme, Noah, and Palace. From the new it-bag and the must-have shoe to all of the season’s hottest prints, silhouettes, and pieces straight off the biggest runways, it’s a store dripping in luxury, with price tags to match.
While the clothes and accessories are exquisite (to-die-for picks include rainbow gemstone rings by Suzanne Kalan, giant gauzy dresses from Molly Goddard, and woven leather bags from Bottega Veneta), the setups they’re displayed in are truly above and beyond. Unique lighting, dynamic wall treatments, giant sculptures, meticulously painted murals, neon signs—the place has it all. Over the years, Dover Street Market has collaborated with the Frieze Art Fair, the Michael Hoppen Gallery, and the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) to showcase artwork within the store, so an artistic approach to retail is in its DNA.
As an extra special treat, Rose Bakery, located on the top floor, is a particularly sweet spot to grab lunch or a pastry—go for a sandwich made with their home baked sourdough or a slice of decadent pistachio cake. Nothing about Dover Street Market will disappoint, so go in with high expectations and be delighted as they’re all met.
