In the whirlwind city of Los Angeles, shopping alongside musicians, models and famous figures is somewhat of the norm. But if you’re looking for a REAL A-lister hotspot (we’re talking The Beatles, Elvis, Diana Ross, and The Jackson Five) then you’ve come to the right place. Operating as the heart and soul of LA pop culture since 1961, Fred Segal is arguably one of the most iconic retail destinations in La La Land.

           

When Fred Segal opened the doors to his West Hollywood store over five decades ago, 85 percent of the merchandise (from denim to flannels to chambrays) had one commonality: the color blue. Having since expanded its palette, Fred Segal not only stocks just about every color imaginable, but every cutting-edge fashion find as well. Curating a bold and daring range of “the most unique items on the planet,” key-lime kitten-heel sandals, matcha-colored mini-dresses, and banana-yellow blazers are just a few of the gems you’ll find inside. With a curation including brands like Proenza Schouler, Ganni, Cult Gaia, and Souk, if you can’t find something you absolutely adore, then you're not looking hard enough.

As if Los Angeles needed any more “Instagram-playgrounds”, the store itself is one big photo-op. Swinging hammock chairs, sequin rugs, neon signs, and more colorful couches than we can count, every turn is an ever-evolving sight to see. If there were a Grammys for visual merchandising (what an idea!), Fred Segal would be Beyonce. It'll probably take you multiple hours to fully explore the expansive multi-story showroom, so set aside a full afternoon to explore. You won't regret it.
