Nestled on Broome street, just a stone’s throw away from the hustle and bustle of SoHo’s busiest shopping area lies the uber-trendy, Scandinavian designer boutique, Henrik Vibskov. Created in 2006 by namesake designer, Henrik Vibskov, this ultramodern concept store is a goldmine for New York’s most daring fashion-lovers.

Stepping off the dusty streets of SoHo and into the warm, wood-scented haven that is Henrik Vibskov, you’ll swear you’ve reached the gates of retail heaven. Hand-painted 3D sculptures decorate the walls, pom-pom garlands hang over the banister of the staircase, and a golden beam of honey-colored sunlight illuminates the mahogany shelves. Boasting a color scheme of mandarin-orange, canary yellow, riviera blue, and watercolor red, it’s pretty much impossible not to have a smile on your face while perusing the slightly overstuffed racks of ponchos and printed trainers.
While the store itself might be small, their range of ahead-of-the-curb designers and over-the-top apparel makes up for its small size . Supplying a brief but handpicked selection of goods from top designers like Rick Ownes, Cote & Ciel, Juliba, and Comme des Garcons, Henrik Vibskov is just as much an art museum of avant-garde apparel as it is a retail store.
Daring, colorful, and all things eclectic, Henrik Vibskov’s eccentric offering might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but on your next lazy SoHo shopping day, we’d still recommend a visit, even if it’s just to get your creative juices flowing!
