Opened in July 2019 by former fashion buyers Leslie Luo and Shan He, Hitchhiker Concept Store is a fresh departure from Milan's typical European-stocked luxury shops. Focused on supporting emerging Asian brands, it carries lesser-known labels from China, Japan, South Korea, and more, most of which you've probably never heard of (but should). Currently offering an array of clothing, bags, shoes, and accessories, Luo and He hope to eventually add home and lifestyle items to the mix. If you're looking for singular styles that haven't already saturated the mainstream market, this unique spot will be your little haven.

Featuring concrete floors, textured metal walls, and colorful circular rugs that add warmth, the space is minimalist with an artistic appeal and lets the clothes it houses really shine. The first thing you’ll notice about Hitchhiker’s collection is that it’s brimming with prints, punchy hues, and lots of interesting fabrics—think layered tulle skirts, neon PVC bags, and metallic jackets. It’s definitely a place to shop if you’re into standing out and don’t take getting dressed too seriously.
Here, men can grab a translucent button-up shirt to pair with black trousers with neon accents by Charles Jeffrey Loverboy, while women can grab a checkered Misbhv bodysuit to wear under a gorgeously draped green satin skirt by Lau Rustinus. While their site and store are somewhat separated by gender, the beauty of Hitchhiker is that they actually see all of their offerings as unisex. After all, can intimate objects really be gendered?
Regarding accessories, the boutique carries a selection of kaleidoscopic sunglasses from Percy Lau, punky silver jewelry from Chin Teo, sculptural silver booties from Robert Wun, crocodile carryalls from Yese Studio, and much more. Dare to branch out and get gutsy with your style--wearing emerging brands is the best way to do it.
