Individual Medley

In the heart of LA’s impossibly-hip, millennial-magnet neighborhood, Atwater Village, there lies a treasure trove of unique home goods, colorful knick-knacks, and quirky vintage apparel. Opened in 2012 by Monica Navarro and Justin Boyes, Individual Medley has since gained a cult following and a glowing reputation as one of the city's most beloved small businesses.

           

Step inside the lofty Glendale Boulevard showroom and what you'll likely find is a healthy mix of one-of-a-kind trinkets and both mens and womens clothing. Curating designers from both around the block and world, the lineup includes everything from patterned sheepskin clogs to ceramic hair-pins to vegan nail polish….they’ve even got artisan hot sauce. Updating their selection almost daily, it’s close to impossible not to walk away with a new purchase every shopping trip.

The shop itself feels like a Los Angeles-ified version of Anthropologie with taupe tapestries, antique rugs, and succulents absolutely everywhere. Spacious, warm, and undeniably cozy, don’t be surprised if you leave with plans to re-decorate your entire apartment after a trip to Individual Medley. Not to mention, they have an abundance of free parking out back (which in Los Angeles is the equivalent of striking gold).

While the prices are higher than you’d find on Amazon, they are far from offensive considering their top notch quality. Pick up a pair of printed wide-leg culottes for $150, a pair of hand carved pineapple earrings for $50, or just take a quick pick-me-up and sample one of their “Pocket Latte” ready-to-eat coffee bars for under $5!
