You know that scene in Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts gets scorned by the snobby sales associate? Well what you’ll find at Moda Boutique is pretty much the opposite. This cozy 12South cottage specializes in more than just eclectic designer clothing and accessories, it’s home to gold-standard customer service and good old southern hospitality.
While Moda may be housed in an old bungalow, don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you. What you’ll find inside is the closest thing Nashville has to haute couture with luxe labels like Zadig & Voltaire, Amanda Uprichard, and Maison Scotch. Their upscale merchandise doesn’t come without a steep price tag, but when the sales associates help you find the best jeans for your butt AND give you recs on the hottest bars for happy hour, the extra dollars are well spent.

Whether your palette is pretty or punk, soft or sophisticated, Moda probably has something to please you. A mix of east and west coast styles, some of their bestsellers include star-studded denim jackets, camo-print joggers, and paisley peasant tops. To say their clientele skews wide would be an understatement. After all, there aren’t many stores that stock a leather jacket edgy enough for New York, a tie-dye tee hip enough for Los Angeles, and a “Nash” baseball cap laid-back enough for Nashville.
A better store atmosphere would boost Moda up a few points, but they are by no means an underdog in the Nashville boutique scene. Next time you are in the 12South area, grab some chips and salsa and a spicy marg at Bartaco down the block and hit up Moda Boutique for some well-deserved retail therapy.
