For luxury with an eccentric twist, there’s no better spot than Montaigne Market. Featuring all of the regular big hitters (Giambattista Valli, Balmain, Isabel Marant) along with more insider brands (Gigi Burrisa and Ulyana Segeenko, to name a few), the sweeping industrial space has something for every taste and occasion, as long as your pockets are deep enough.

           

Split between multiple levels, the physical space is minimalist and industrial with a high-end twist. Throughout, black and white fashion photographs starring the likes of Kate Moss add a soigne touch, while one room boasting floral rugs and welcoming seating options provide a place of respite during your perusing. In certain spaces, namely downstairs, the vibe becomes much more severe thanks to harsh lighting, metal racks and shelves filled with product, stark white walls, and graphic architectural details. The entire store features dark tiled floors and, when taken in as a whole, feels strangely chic, if not a little disjointed.

Which, in the most complimentary of ways, perfectly reflects their inventory.

At Montaigne Market, you can find a riot of gold sequins in midi dress form featuring ruffles along every hem by The Vampire’s Wife as well as a gathered leather mini dress by Alexandre Vauthier. Also on the racks: gorgeous floral frocks, tops, and pants by Borgo de Noir; classic denim by AGOLDE; a striped lamé jumpsuit by Jonathan Simkhai; office-ready button-ups by Saint Laurent, and shearling outerwear by Mr. & Mrs. Italy. Accessories-wise, they’ve got dainty, colorful gems by Marie Lichtenburg; boots in every shape and style from Toral, Isabel Marant, and more; and plenty of hats—think a pageboy topper by Sauvages—to help you finesse your look. A little bit of everything, all of it drool-worthy.
