Founded in 2013 by Maria Lemos and named after her daughter, Mouki Mou is the simple yet coolly sophisticated multi-brand boutique that London desperately needed.

There are many things that make Mouki Mou special, but a few are worth noting. For one, their pieces are incredibly versatile, which means you can wear them three times a week without anyone really noticing. Secondly, the shop is low-key enough that you don’t have to worry about accidentally twinning with another girl on the street, which is always a big win. And finally, their loose silhouettes and linen fabrics can take you from bed to work to dinner, which means less time thinking about swapping outfits and more time doing everything else.

Minimalism is the name of the game at Mouki Mou, and their physical space is no exception. A labyrinth of winding cubby rooms, painted in calming colors and tiled with abstract-mosaic prints, provide the perfect backdrop to their collection of simple apparel, jewelry, and sandals. While their brand list is extensive, you can expect to find both big names and under-the-radar-labels at this gem. Thumb through amethyst earrings and opal brooches by jewelry designer Gabriela Kiss or suede sandals and latex sneakers by New York-based brand, Feit. And if you’re feeling bold, we can think of the perfect tie-dye-print fedora handmade by Muhlbauer Hatmakers in Vienna.

Quality of this standard doesn’t come cheap - a classic smock tunic will run you roughly £700 while structured fedoras are priced at around £200. But when it's going to last you decades to come, it may very well be worth the investment.
