Tucked between Hollywood and Silver Lake in one of the few walkable neighborhoods in LA, lies an alternate world of inspiring artists, craftspeople, and creatives. This hybrid studio/store/workshop/event space is better known as Otherwild.

Founded in 2012 by boss-woman Rachel Berks, Otherwild is far more than just another boutique in LA. As a retail space, they showcase goods from everyone - farmers and fabricators to witches and woodworkers. As a graphic design studio, they work with artists across the world, and as a gathering space, they host everything from food swaps and leather bracelet making to candle dipping and tarot card readings. You could spend every night of the week here and never get bored.
While the selection may be minimal, it makes up for it’s small size in quality of curation; impeccably orchestrated, each and every piece is hand selected by Rachel herself. French rainbow market bags? You’ll be the talk of the entire farmer's market. Milled soaps, essential oil lotions, and all things hemp? Guaranteed to please any of your yoga-loving girlfriends. Those “The Future is Female” sweatshirts that have been dominating your Instagram feed? Yeah, they’ve got those too.
Not only does Otherwild stock an impressive collection of goodies you never knew existed, the store itself radiates good vibes and sunshine. Neon signs, rainbow painted stairs, vases and jars shaped like butts...it's close to impossible not to have a smile on your face while shopping here. Check it out on your next free afternoon and get ready to gain a new reputation as everyone's favorite gift-giver.
