Founded in Florence in 2003, ottod’Ame is the brainchild of creative genius Silvia Mazzoli. Developing a luxe curation of womenswear by incorporating silks, laces, cottons, and leather, this independent Italian brand flawlessly accomplishes the goal of embodying the “modish, eclectic spirit of a carefree woman.”

The rather peculiar name lends itself to several different meanings, but is essentially a combination of founder Silvia Mazzoli’s favorite number “8” and the French word for “soul.” Mazzoli likes to think this double-meaning name parallels the brand’s double-flavor, combining traditional Italian style with an international flair. Fancy name aside, they’ve mastered the art of chic staples and a hyperfeminine aesthetic.
Catering towards the modern-day “cosmopolitan woman,” ottod’Ame prides itself on its ageless offering. With signature styles ranging from floral suits and coral-colored palazzo pants to tailored overalls professional enough for the office, they’ve got something to please fashion mavens from every generation. While mid- to full length dresses in playful-yet-mature patterns are a mainstay all-year-round, quirky gems like embroidered denim and baby bucket bags are a few nice additions we noticed this season.
Designed in an apartment style manner, complete with seating areas, lounges, and a full-blown dinner table, the mahogany-walled showroom oozes sophistication. Bask in the gem-toned hues as you sift through silk slip dresses or lounge on a plush velvet chaise while trying on kitten-heels. You’ll likely leave with not only a new fashion find, but a healthy dose of home-decor inspiration too.
