Pachute

Founded in 2014 by Sharone Komoroff, the bronzed, blonde owner who looks like she walked straight off the set of Mamma Mia, Pachute has since gained a cult following in the area. Specializing in small batches of limited-edition, exceptionally-crafted pieces, they hit the nail on the head when it comes to nabbing the “impossibly- comfortable-but-still-sexy-boho” look.

“Pachute” means “simple” in Hebrew, and the store is just that. Rustic, minimalistic, and welcoming, the atmosphere is open and bright with recycled-wood furniture carefully scattered throughout. Maybe it's the fact that the store feels like a zen garden or maybe it's just the fact that none of the fabrics require dry cleaning, but something about this place is addicting.

           

While floral maxi-skirts, linen pants, and leather sandals are their star players, it’s equally impossible to resist the selection of handmade jewelry, woven totes, and vintage wool fedoras. Carrying something for just about anyone, their customer base ranges from chic uptown new-moms to outlandishly-toned yoga instructors. Even if you’ve never been into harem pants, Pachute will make you a believer.

It’s not easy to score high in Manhattan, but somehow Pachute has pulled it off. One-on-one attention from the owner herself and the neatly curated assortment score them extra points. But, if you see something you like, grab it fast, the turnover rate is alarmingly quick.

Nevertheless, next time you find yourself in the Upper West Side, stop into Pachute. Whether you walk out with a new rainbow-embroidered hobo tote, or just a sense of tranquility from the spa-like atmosphere, you won’t be disappointed.
