Vintage shop by day, live music, craft cocktails, and dance classes by night. You read that right, a shop that can be your go-to for clothes, music, alcohol, and education? Sounds like downtown Manhattan in a store.

           

Starting off as a dress shop, throwing a few parties here and there to help pay the rent, Paper Dress Vintage eventually evolved into a full-on hybrid hotspot in 2007. During the day, this Hackney storefront operates as a quirky vintage shop, offering alterations and old-school hair and make-up services on the weekend, but come the evening, it turns into something quite unexpected – an event space that hosts everything from rock & roll concerts to drawing classes to gypsy-dance parties.

When it comes to apparel, Paper Dress Vintage does vintage right. It focuses on high quality, funky finds in mint condition, regardless of the designer on the label. A few items that caught our attention include a 1950’s powder-blue peter-pan collar dress and a 1960’s sequin-embellished tunic dress. If you’re the kind of shopper who can pull off a night out in vintage attire, these two dresses are sure to make a statement. And did we mention almost everything in the store is priced under $100? You can thank us later for the introduction.
