One step into Planet Blue and you’ll be transported to a different universe….one where bikinis and sundresses are the uniform of choice and every day is 80 degrees and sunny. Whether it’s the yellow lacy maxi-dress hanging in the window, the rave reviews from all your friends, or just the wafting smell of coconut sunscreen that draws you in, few find themselves disappointed by this California cool-girl watering hole.

Established in 1995 by founder Ling-Sui Chinn, the store originally started off as an organic cotton clothing shop in the famous Malibu Country Mart. Fast forward 25 years and Planet Blue has made a name for itself as the destination for free-spirited fashion. Take a trip down to their Beverly Hills store and you’ll be met with a completely open air sales floor (can you say California?) decked out with rich mahogany details and driftwood decor. Don’t be alarmed if you find yourself sifting through graphic tees next to Vanessa Hudgens or Ashley Tinsdale...it’s the norm here.
Catering to the laid-back girl who feels just as confident in a bikini and denim cutoffs as she does when she’s full glam, their “summer year-round” lineup includes the likes of animal print mini skirts, tie dye sweat sets, and teeny-tiny bikinis. If hearing names like Wildbox, Boys + Arrows, Citizens of Humanity, and For Love & Lemons grabs your attention, then flipping through the racks at Planet Blue will make your retail-loving heart do cartwheels.
