Peer into Prelude & Dawn’s giant front window and its gorgeous curation and beautiful layout are all but guaranteed to draw you inside. Boasting chic, earthy decor accentuated with elegant products and plenty of plants, it’s a picture-perfect boutique where you can find home treasures, cute gifts, and modern and vintage clothing alike. If you’re into sustainable textiles, handmade goods, and natural ingredients, this charming haunt is not to be missed.
The first thing you’ll notice is the store’s impressive wooden shelving—there isn’t a metal rack or a plastic display case in sight. Instead, a large, two-tiered table splits down the space’s center, holding an array of knick knacks and homegoods that would fit in perfectly at any stylish desert abode. Colorful stained glass suncatchers from Debbie Bean, terrazzo planters from Capra Designs, carved wooden incense holders imported from India, twisted candles by Lex Pott, and striped Turkish dish towels from Buldano, to name a few.
On either side of the shop are additional custom shelving units and racks, which house more giftable items (a big chunk of wall is taken up by greeting cards of all styles) along with natural beauty products and a small selection of clothes. Snag a french lavender sea salt face mask from Wild Yonder for a special DIY facial and follow it up with a restorative balm from Willow & Oak Skincare. For an ultra luxurious touch, choose PF Candle Co’s teakwood and tobacco spray, which will make your home and linens smell incredible, and don’t miss out on Under Aurora’s botanical perfume oil, which rolls on like a dream.
Clothing-wise, Prelude & Dawn offers pieces that are simple, breezy, sustainable, casual, and very wearable. You’ll find everything from a long poplin shirt dress from Tribe Alive and workout sets from Girlfriend Collective to flower-embroidered pants by Samantha Pleet and a snap-up work suit by Conscious Clothing. Also offering a selection of vintage wears, printed Baggu shoppers, comfortable bras and underwear by Richer Poorer, and dainty gold jewelry by Token Jewelry and Dea Dia, it’s the perfect place to find special pieces that will truly stand the test of time (and trends).
