Nestled in the revamped loft of a church hall in Notting Hill is the London-based fashion brand, Sister Jane. With a bright romantic interior and a lineup of playful vintage-style dresses, Sister Jane is like a boutique straight out of a fairytale - and it does a pretty distinct job translating vintage-inspired fashion for today’s daydreamers.

For one, it has prairie fashion down pat: there’s a strong focus on exaggerated puffy shapes and fluffy layers. Vintage-style dresses, tops, bottoms, and everything in between come in tea party prints or other ladylike embellishments like pussybows and pretty embroidery.

It’s whimsical but wearable. Pieces pack a punch of detail that would make one expect high-end prices, but alas, many Sister Jane staples ring in at more or less $300.

The brand aptly describes itself as “never the quiet one.” With a strong roster of statement makers, Sister Jane is for women who embrace that Little Women look. It’s the exact place you want to shop at if you’re looking to refresh your 9-to-5 or want a unique piece for a trip to Europe.

Sister Jane is stocked at 200 retailers but has a website customers can peruse for a one-and-done fix. Their inventory offers just enough options without being too overwhelming to browse through, running at one or two product pages per category. Pieces are almost always stocked in one color, giving a limited edition feel.

Sister Jane also offers a size chart that applies to all items and provides model measurements for the customer’s reference.

With a new collection rolling out every six weeks, customers have something fresh to anticipate and update their wardrobes with. And if you lean towards more timeless styles? Sister Jane’s “big sister” brand, Ghospell, has your back.
