It should come at no surprise that New York-based designer Nikki Chasin originally hails from Miami - stepping inside Chasin’s Lower East Side outpost, The Rising States, is comparable to that first moment when the South Beach sun hits your face, and your toes touch the sand, and you take a sip of mojito, and ahh...

We are in a better place now.

Much like her hometown’s eclectic mix of cultural influences and #positivevibes, Chasin’s warm, inviting store is an inspiring blend of classic and novel, timeless and quirky. The impeccably tidy and organized boutique’s colorful racks are stocked with a medley of Chasin’s namesake label, gorgeous vintage looks, and independent designers like fun and funky House of Sunny, and our new favorite Seoul-based outerwear brand, Jin Jin Island. The overall vibe is joyful; finding unique pieces and discovering new labels to love at this cozy spot is an instant serotonin boost - sunshine on a gloomy day.

           

Chasin’s eponymous label is a testament to her Miami roots and NYC lifestyle - lots of punchy colors and spirited twists on classic silhouettes. A textured tweed jacket in bold hues with fun fringe embellishment would look just as chic on an uptown lady who lunches as it would on a downtown artist who brunches, as would Chasin’s tea-length Menina dress - in a cheeky baby-blue zebra pattern.

That playful wink to Chasin’s designs is palpable throughout her Ludlow Street boutique. Don’t miss the sample sale downstairs, with gorgeous leftovers ready to be loved over for as low as $40! The Rising States also carries a selection of sweet jewelry - delicate, hand-beaded necklaces by indie brand, Honeymoon, would make a perfect gift (for a friend … or for yourself!). To round out a refreshing, relaxing shopping experience, our sales associate, Stephanie, was engaging, helpful, and super-knowledgeable.
